Kasey Palmer says he has “never really been away” after completing his permanent return to Luton Town, with the fan favourite unveiled alongside the Hatters’ new white away kit for the 2026/27 season.
The 29-year-old midfielder has signed permanently after an outstanding loan spell from Hull City in the second half of last season, when he scored eight goals in a ten-game League One spell to inspire Town’s late charge towards the play-offs.
Palmer also helped Jack Wilshere’s side lift the Vertu Trophy at Wembley and had made little secret of his desire to return to Kenilworth Road, regularly dropping hints on social media throughout the summer.
Speaking after finalising the move, Palmer admitted it already feels like home.
“I’m so happy to be back, although as everyone has seen from my socials, I’ve never really been away!” he told the club’s website.
“I loved every minute of my time here last season. The manager, staff, players and fans were unbelievable with me and I felt so welcomed into the Luton Town family.
“The club has become such a big part of my family, too.”
The move also represents a personal milestone for Palmer, who says his young family can finally settle after years of relocating during his career.
“They have sacrificed and moved all around the country with me over the last ten years, and I’ve had to live away from them for the last couple, but now it’s my turn to move home to be with them.
“My kids love coming to the Kenny, it’s a special place when everyone is together and I can’t wait to feel that again this season.”
Palmer quickly became one of the supporters’ favourite players during his short spell at the club, combining moments of individual brilliance with crucial goals as Luton narrowly missed out on a play-off place by a single point.
Despite that disappointment, the midfielder says the squad are determined to finish the job this season.
“We had some great moments in the last few months, not least lifting the Trophy at Wembley,” he added.
“We’ve won something together and while we were all gutted to miss out on the play-offs, we’re all determined to put it right this season and achieve things together again.”
Palmer was revealed wearing Luton’s new white away strip, which returns for the first time since 2024/25.
Designed by Reflo, the shirt features a V-neck collar inspired by the club’s late-1980s kits along with a subtle striped jacquard pattern woven into the fabric.
The new away shirt is expected to go on sale before the Hatters travel to Spain later this month for their pre-season training camp and friendly against Saudi Pro League side Al Kholood.
