Luton students who have received their A-Level, T Level or BTEC results today are being urged not to panic if their grades or plans have not gone as expected, with university places still available through Clearing.
The University of Bedfordshire is encouraging prospective students to consider their options, whether they have achieved different grades from those expected, changed their mind about where they want to study or have only recently decided that university is the right choice.
A range of undergraduate courses are still available at the university, including Nursing, Media, Sport and Business.
The university’s dedicated Clearing team is available to help students work through their options and find a course that matches their interests and career ambitions. Advisers can be contacted on 0300 3300 073 or through online chat.
For students who want to see what studying at Bedfordshire could be like before making a decision, an online open day is being held today, Thursday August 13.
There are also opportunities to visit the university in person, with Clearing Open Campus events taking place on Friday August 14 and Saturday August 15. Visitors will be able to tour facilities, speak to academic staff and admissions advisers and get a feel for campus life.
Clearing Campus Tours are also running daily from today until Friday August 21, giving prospective students the chance to explore the campuses and ask questions about courses and university life.
Students who secure a place could also be eligible for one of the university’s scholarships, worth up to £2,500 a year.
Blaithin Donnelly joined the University of Bedfordshire through Clearing before studying Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation and graduating in 2025. She now works as a Sports Massage and Rehabilitation Therapist.
She said: “My time at Bedfordshire has shaped me in more ways than one. Moving from my little hometown to a place where I knew nobody and thriving continuously has given me the confidence to talk to people I don’t know, get to know clients at my own practice, and be comfortable in sharing my own opportunities/experiences to make others more comfortable in their own situations.”
The university has also released a special episode of its ‘Bits of Beds’ podcast featuring staff and current students offering advice and personal experiences of the Clearing process.
With university places still available, the university says students should not see disappointing or unexpected results as the end of their plans.
