After the sell-out success of Rave New World, the immersive outdoor theatre show celebrating the town’s legendary Exodus Collective, Revoluton Arts and Tangled Feet are reigniting the movement with a new album: Luton on Fire.
Released on 29 November, Luton on Fire transforms the energy and emotion of the stage production into a nine-track album that blazes with the same rebellious, communal spirit that defined Luton’s free party scene in the 1990s.
“Luton on Fire is a sonic uprising,” say the creative teams behind the project. “It fuses rave, grime, jungle, dance and poetry to channel the raw energy of the Exodus Collective and the new voices shaping the sound of 2025.”
Each track captures the pulse of resistance and renewal that has long run through Luton’s creative veins — a reflection of a community that has always danced, dreamed and defied together.
The album is led by powerhouse vocalist Aminita Francis and producer Guy Connelly, best known for his work as part of Clock Opera. Together, they’ve reimagined Rave New World’s original music into a bold standalone experience, with the debut single Lift Me Up — and its Exodus Remix — launching on 5 November.
A live album launch event will take place at Marsh House, the same site once occupied by the Exodus Collective and later transformed into a community centre. The celebration, running from 19:30 until late on Saturday 29 November, will feature live performances, remixes and DJ sets — echoing the spirit of the 90s raves that inspired it all.
The Rave New World project began as a collaboration between Revoluton Arts and Tangled Feet, supported by Arts Council England, Without Walls and The Steel. Its March 2025 debut outside Marsh Farm Community Centre sold out across two nights, blending theatre, aerial performance and music to retell the story of Luton’s activist rave movement.
That story is rooted in the real-life legacy of the Exodus Collective, a pioneering group from Marsh Farm who staged free parties in the early 1990s while also leading social housing and community projects. Their DIY ethos — shaped by resistance, inclusion and creativity — helped forge a sense of unity across Luton and beyond.
As Luton on Fire readies for release, the message remains the same as it did three decades ago: rave culture isn’t just about escape — it’s about connection, courage and change.
This is not just nostalgia. This is the future. This is Luton on Fire!
Tickets for the launch show are free but limited and available via Revoluton Arts website
