West Bromwich Albion boss Slaven Bilic has believes Luton’s style of play is can be a blessing and curse, with the Croat aiming to exploit the latter to cause Town problems.

The Hatters host Albion in league competition for the first time in 13 years, with home boss Graeme Jones searching for his first Championship win.

He was second in command at The Hawthorns last term, but was relieved of his duties in March with the Baggies fourth in the table. After taking over at Kenilworth Road in the summer, his Luton side have scored seven goals in three games (league and cup) so far but have only claimed a point in the league.

“They play very brave football, which puts them in a position to harm you or hurt you.” Bilic told the Express & Star.

“But then it leaves them in a position sometimes where you can hurt them – we saw that in their first two Championship games.

“Their manager knows our players. He’s been here. They play very brave football. We’ll have to be very organised when they’re in possession. It’s not about just running, it’s about being clever.

“Also being good on the ball when we get the chance to cause them problems. I expect us to hurt them as well.”

Bilic had not long taken over as Croatian national manager the last to Albion travelled to Kenilworth Road for a league contest.

He said: “It’s a good stadium, I don’t remember being there but I watched the game against Middlesbrough. It’s one of them! It’s loud.”
