Two food spots in Luton will be aiming to keep hold of their crowns after being shortlisted for the food awards that they both won last year.

Lemon Crispy Chicken and Pizza on Old Bedford Road has been nominated for the Food Awards England’s Takeaway of the Year award that they scooped a year ago alongside Middle Eastern restaurant and takeaway Al Quds, on New Bedford Road, who won the South of England’s Best World Cuisine prize.

Posting on their Facebook page, Lemon Crispy Chicken and Pizza wrote: ‘We are proud to announce that we’ve been shortlisted of the TAKEAWAY OF THE YEAR Award again.

It wouldn’t have been possible without your support and the hard work of our team.we are hoping to bring this prestigious award home again. Thank you for your support.’

The awards bash is a celebration of culinary excellence, innovation, and the outstanding achievements of the food industry’s brightest stars, honouring the exceptional talent, dedication, and passion displayed by restaurants, chefs, eateries, suppliers, and various food establishments across England.

This year’s awards ceremony will take place at the Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre on 9th October. The gala event will be a splendid occasion, attended by some of the most influential figures in the food industry, esteemed guests, and media representatives.

A Spokesperson for the Food Awards England said: “In a country with so many food establishments and businesses, it can be hard to stand out. However, the 2023 finalists have all been distinguished as the real masters in their field due to their hard work and dedication to customer satisfaction.

“Moreover, their success isn’t just about their dedication to leaving every customer satisfied. It’s also a story that reflects the resilience and creativity of countless chefs, producers, employees and managers who are always ensuring that locals and visitors eat well. We would like to wish all finalists the best of luck.”
