Luton Town are releasing midfielders George Moncur and Kazenga LuaLua, defender Brendan Galloway and goalkeeper Harry Isted as their long-awaited retained list has been announced. They will leave when their contracts expire on June 30.

Moncur and LuaLua both scored stunners in the comeback victory at Wycombe Wanderers last month, but both had seen limited to appearances, with Moncur making just 24 and LuaLua 28. Moncur has been linked with a move to newly promoted Championship side Hull City.

Injury-hit Galloway was an expected exit with manager Nathan Jones confirming as much during the season, while Isted has long been third choice behind Croatian international Simon Sluga and League One title winner stopper James Shea.

There is still some uncertainties however, as club’s longest serving current player Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu, Martin Cranie and Ryan Tunnicliffe have all been offered new contracts.

Loan players Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Sam Nombe and Tom Ince have returned to their parent club, while Elliot Lee, Peter Kioso and Gabriel Osho have returned to Luton following their loans at Oxford United, Northampton and Rochdale and they remain under contract, with the club taking up an option on the latter.

From the U21 Development squad, an option has been taken on Dion Pereira – who made his first-team debut at QPR in the final game of the season – and he has been offered a new professional deal, while TQ Addy, Sam Beckwith, Avan Jones, Corey Panter, Jake Peck and Josh Neufville have each been offered new terms.

Tiernan Parker and Jack Chambers will leave the Luton when their current deals expire.

Second-year scholars offered professional development contracts are Under-18s captain Casey Pettit, goalkeeper Jameson Horlick, midfielder Callum Nicolson and forward Tra Lucas, while Matt Moloney and Ben Stevens have been offered third-year scholarships.

They are joined by first year scholar Aidan Francis-Clarke, who has been offered a professional development contract, along with Ed McJannet, who turned pro on his 17th birthday in January.

First year scholars moving into their second year with the Academy are Josh Allen, Eddie Corbit, Jacob Cowler, Tyrelle Newton, Josh Swan and Adam Wedd.

Leaving the Academy at the end of their two-year scholarships are Coree Wilson, Joe Halsey and Josiah Ramsay.

  1. Feels to me like possible personal issues between NJ and Moncur rather than based on what’s right. Cranie getting an offer and our 3rd highest scorer last season (first in goals per minutes) not is not something to be excited about. Very disappointing and I hope NJ explains it clearly and transparently very soon.

Thanks George. Sorry you were treated badly most of your time here. I hope you find a new club soon. And if you ever get chance to score against us, I’ll personally enjoy it
