Luton Town have confirmed that wing-back Alfie Doughty has completed a move to Millwall for an undisclosed sum.
The 25-year-old arrived in Bedfordshire in the summer of 2022 from Stoke City and quickly established himself as a key figure down the left flank. He made 105 appearances for the Hatters, scoring six goals and playing a vital role in Luton’s historic promotion to the Premier League in 2023.
The former Charlton academy graduate signed a new contract last year and featured 27 times in the 2024/25 Championship season, scoring once at Sheffield Wednesday.
His final appearance for Luton came in a 1-1 draw at Stoke City in April.
Millwall’s Director of Football, Steve Gallen, told the Lions’ website: “I am really pleased we could get this deal done. Alfie is a player I’ve known for a long time, from when we were both at Charlton. Even as recently as a year ago, there was Premier League interest in him, no doubt due to his versatility and ability both on and off the ball.
“He is an exciting footballer, and a Millwall fan, which has helped speed up the process, as he really wanted to join the club, which is an important factor when speaking to these players.”
“I’m sure that he will be a fantastic addition to the squad, and I expect that he will suit our style of play and help his teammates with his contribution to the side.”
