A Hatters fan group has waved a fond goodbye to Rob Edwards after he left his role as Luton manager by mutual consent today, saying he allowed them “to dream big”.

The club are now looking for a new manager after bringing the curtain down on just over two years in charge for the 42-year-old, where he guided the club to a first ever promotion to the Premier League.

But relegation followed after just one top flight season and, this term in the Championship the club are once again battling relegation, despite pre-season expectations of another promotion push.

But the Luton Town Supporters’ Trust have saluted the former manager for the good times, saying in a statement: “The LTST board would like to place on record our thanks for the job that Rob Edwards did in just over two years in charge at the club.

“He allowed us as fans to dream big and was the man who made all of those dreams come true on May 27, 2023 on that incredible day at Wembley Stadium.

“He guided us on a journey through the Premier League that was as incredible at times as it was enjoyable and made our pride to be Hatters as high as it ever was, with only injuries stopping that journey from being extended for another season at least.

“Unfortunately, the closer we slid towards the foot of the Championship table a change was required and this day was inevitable but this is still very much a sad day for Luton fans across the world.

“We say goodbye to a good man, the man who gave us memories we will never ever forget and in doing so went a long way to preserving the future of Luton Town Football Club for generations to come.

“Thank you for all the brilliant memories, Rob. We wish you all the best for the future.”
