Ross Barkley is not expected to feature against his boyhood club when Luton travel to Everton in the Premier League tomorrow, but Tom Lockyer is fit.
The midfielder signed on a free for the Hatters in the summer, but has missed the last two games with a hamstring issue.
The Liverpudlian is back in training but any hopes of a role against the club that he graduated though the academy at has been downplayed by Town boss Rob Edwards.
“He’s trained the last couple of days but it’s probably a little bit too soon for him, this game,” said the Luton manager.
It leaves Edwards with some problems to solve in midfield after Arsenal loanee Albert Sambi Lokonga was this week ruled out for a couple of months with a hamstring injury.
“I’ve got some decisions to make. Clearly Sambi’s going to be missing after his injury against Wolves so there’s one that’s forced anyway,” said Edwards.
Skipper Lockyer did not travel to Exeter in midweek as he was having a scan on his hamstring, but Edwards gave him the all-clear, saying: “He’s trained. We managed him yesterday and he’s trained today so he’s fit for selection.”
Defender Gabriel Osho also got back out on the grass today but Edwards said of his long-term injured: “They’re all closer, but they’re not anywhere near trained with us yet, so they’re still a while. Gabe was out there on the grass today which is brilliant, so he’s progressing, but he’s still doing his work on his own at the moment.”
