Former Luton Town boss Matt Bloomfield has been linked with moves to take both Christ Makosso and Isaiah Jones to Oxford United as the transfer window heads towards its closing stages.
Bloomfield was appointed at the Kassam Stadium earlier this month, having been relieved of his Hatters duties in October and replaced by Jack Wilshere.
At Oxford has made a steady start, taking five points from his opening three Championship matches with goalless draws against Bristol City and QPR followed by an impressive 2-1 win at Leicester City. It is a run that has sparked speculation he could look to familiar faces from his time in Bedfordshire to bolster his squad.

Makosso is reportedly on United’s after Bloomfield handed the Congo international his Football League debut during his spell in charge at Luton, introducing him from the bench at Watford in a 2-0 defeat.
The defender went on to start the final 12 games of that campaign, quickly becoming a fan favourite and sweeping up both Young Player of the Season and Signing of the Season awards.
This term, the 22-year-old remained a regular whenever available, starting every League One fixture he could and making eight appearances, although his role shifted as Bloomfield moved to a back four, with Makosso asked to fill in at right back.
But under Wilshere, opportunities have been limited to two League One appearances, and Wilshere admitted last week that a move away from Kenilworth Road could be considered.
Football reporter Pete O’Rourke has said on social media: “Oxford United have opened talks to sign Luton Town defender Christ Makosso, sources have told Football Insider. Oxford boss Matt Bloomfield is a big fan of the defender having worked with him during his time in charge of Luton and he is keen for a reunion.”

The U’s have also been credited with an approach for winger Jones, another player who worked under Bloomfield at Luton, although it has been reported that have knocked back an initial enquiry.
Jones arrived during the January window last season and quickly became a key figure, starting 14 of the final 15 matches as Luton were relegated out of the Championship.
He suffered a stress fracture in his back during the summer and this season has been injury-hit with an ankle issue keeping him currently sidelined.
Sky Sports reported that Luton have already turned down one move, stating: “Oxford United have had an enquiry for Luton’s Isaiah Jones turned down. Jones is open to a return to the Championship with other clubs interested. Jones signed for Luton in January 2025.”
