Filmstock returns after decade away

Early bird tickets are now on sale for Luton’s Filmstock festival after it was announced earlier this year that the popular four-day independent movie extravaganza would return after a ten-year hiatus.

Filmstock 12 will return from November 21-24, with a programme of short films (narrative, documentary, experimental, animation and music video), as well as a selection of new documentary and narrative features.

There will be the ever-popular catharsis of the Filmschlock screening and the infamous socials where filmmakers, audiences and volunteers all hang out over good food, good coffee and good liquor.

There will be screenings of work by filmmakers from across the festival’s history as well as the introduction of live podcast recordings with The Cinematologists, live music courtesy of Luton’s incredible jazz venue The Bear Club and delicious soul food breakfasts and afternoon cookouts that will add a new culinary dimension to proceedings.

Events will take place in four different screening environments in the heart of Luton’s cultural quarter, including The Bear Club, Youthscape, and the newly-refurbished Arts Centre, The Hat Factory – Filmstock’s original home from 2000-2009.
