Luton Town have unveiled their new home kit for the 2025/26 season – billed as a bold, sustainable design, based on a classic 1980s shirt and the first in the country created in collaboration with eco-conscious sportswear brand Reflo.
The design is reminiscent of the famous Adidas kits that the Hatters wore from 1981 to 1984, during which time they won promotion to the top flight and begun a ten-year period of sustained success in the first division with the likes of Ricky Hill, Brian Stein, Paul Walsh, Brian Horton and Raddy Antic.
The 2025 reimagining, is a new deep orange strip that introduces cutting-edge Reloop™ technology, which allows the shirt to be fully recyclable – a major step forward in sustainable professional football kit design.
Hatters Chief executive Gary Sweet said: “We are delighted to launch our new partnership with Reflo with this new, sustainable, unique kit. I, personally, love the design which is reminiscent of watching many of our 80s heroes.”
Sweet added that the design process had been shaped in part by fan feedback: “The design was supported by Luton Town Supporters’ Trust, who has been involved in the design process from the start and with the approval of all three kit designs, including one obvious deviation from our traditional branding.
“Supporters who have seen it already have been really impressed with the look, feel and quality. We now can’t wait to see our team play in it for the first time this weekend and we look forward to revealing the other designs in the coming weeks”.
Made from 100 per cent recycled polyester, the shirt has been engineered to be mechanically recycled at the end of its life. The club says “It represents a meaningful solution to the 92 million tonnes of textiles that end up in landfill each year, transforming shirts into a circular product that can be reborn season after season.”
Reflo co-founder Rory MacFadyen said: “Luton Town are setting a new standard. This isn’t just a kit. It’s proof that innovation and legacy can work hand in hand. We’ve built them to perform, but more importantly, we’ve built them to last, avoid landfill and be reborn. This is the future of teamwear, and we’re proud to build it together with Luton.”
Reflo will also plant a tree for every product sold as part of its wider commitment to sustainability.
Fans will get their first look at the shirt in action tomorrow when Luton start their pre-season campaign at Borehamwood.
The official unveiling came earlier than today’s midday billing after images were leaked on social media following a week of club announcements about sponsors. Capital Sky, are the new front of shirt sponsor. The Luton-based construction company built the new Bobber’s Stand in time for the Premier League campaign and are currently on the site of the club’s new Power Court stadium, working on projects there.
Utilita, who were the front of shirt sponsor last term, will move to the back of the shirts, while Switchshop will remain the shirt sleeves sponsor and KDW Financial Planning become the new back of shorts sponsor.
In a video where the club gave the players a first look at the new kit, midfielder Liam Walsh called it “better than last season”, which was the Umbro shirt that Luton were relegated in two years in a row.
