Two key Luton players are doubts for tomorrow’s crunch clash against Barnsley, but boss Jack Wilshere has admitted he faces difficult decisions over whether to risk them as Town attempt to extend their season into the play-offs.

Jordan Clark and Isaiah Jones, who have missed the last two and three games, respectively, are both edging back towards fitness but are not expected to be fully ready for the visit of the Tykes, which is a game the Hatters must win to keep alive their dream of the reaching the play-offs.

And with what’s at stake, that has left the Luton boss weighing up the potential benefits of involving them against the risk of aggravating injuries.

“Clark trained today. Izzy has done a bit of training, but probably would be too soon for both of them,” he said of their availability for tomorrow’s Barnsley game.

With only two guaranteed games remaining, Wilshere acknowledged that pushing players could be necessary if Luton are to achieve their objective of breaking into the top six and extending their season.

“It’s always weighing up that risk,” he said. “We know that we’ve got two official games left. We want it to be longer. But in order for us to make it longer, we have to win these next two.”

Weighing up whether or not to include the pair, Wilshere added: “We’ll make that decision.”

Elsewhere, Wilshere said there were no fresh injury concerns among the remainder his squad.
