Luton Town have unveiled three new kits for the 2020/2021 season and the start of a four-season deal with Umbro – a sportswear brand they first wore in their only FA Cup Final appearance in 1959.
The last time Town wore the ‘double diamond’ was in 1992, when they were last in the top-flight and after Wednesday’s Great Escape to secure their Championship status, the strips are being branded as #MadeForHeroes.
The orange home kit is constructed of a premium woven waffle fabric. It features a discrete collar, elevating the standard v neck with the asymmetric theme running through in to the colour cuffs and short piping.
The new white away kit features a new twist on the famous Luton Town Umbro kit from the early 91-92 season.
- Mistakes driving Edwards ‘flipping mad’ despite last-gasp win over Derby
- Luton 2 Derby 1: Edwards ‘full of relief’ after late Morris winner and Pelly-inspired comeback
- ‘There’s always a few difficult decisions and Pelly’s one of those,’ says Edwards
- Lockyer WILL play football again after cardiac arrest, but injury blow delays Luton return
- Hashioka to miss Derby clash as injuries mount up for Luton
The subtle dark navy kit incorporates the colours used in the home and white kits with asymmetric piping on shoulder and cuffs.
As the Hatters continue to celebrate their 135th year, their banded colour identity features on the back of the neck of each shirt. This design which has been used throughout this year’s anniversary year was developed by the Club, and references the colours of Luton Town kits since their formation in 1885.
The kits are available now on pre-order via www.hattersworld.co.uk, with the kits expected to arrive at the club’s shops on:
- Home: 7th August 2020
- White: 7th September 2020
- Navy: 2nd October 2020
Adult replica shirts retail at £49, with junior shirts costing £29 and infants at £25.
Oh dear – cant see many of them getting sold. The Orange & Blue ones look like I’ve designed them (erm, beyond basic). The White on brings back memories of relegation from the top division (with Dad’s army: Trevor Peake, Imre Varadi, Kamara).
And to be sponsored by a W**ford based Contstruction company that nobody has even heard of?????
