Allan Campbell will leave Luton Town this summer to revive his career, Hatters boss Rob Edwards has said.

The midfielder was signed from Motherwell in June 2021 and he was a mainstay in the team for the first two seasons, helping the Hatters to the Premier League via the play-off final last May.

But the 26-year-old was sent on loan to Millwall last term as Town bolstered their midfield with for the top-flight with Ross Barkley and Sambi Lokonga.

But his time in London was not fruitful and he only made 12 appearances for the Lions and didn’t play at all in the second of half the campaign.

“Al will be moving on,” said Edwards, adding: “He’s training with us here at the moment, which is great because we love having him around, he’s an amazing professional and a brilliant guy – but he needs get his career going again.

“We have to make difficult decisions, and we always try and do things respectfully with people, but do things with the club’s best interest at heart but there’s always a human side to it. Players want to play but want to know where they stand so you need to have those honest conversations.”
