Thomas Holmes has returned to Luton Town following the early end of his season-long loan spell with League One rivals Rotherham United.

The centre-back joined the south Yorkshire side in the summer and impressed on his debut with a man-of-the-match display against Exeter City, but he suffered a LCL knee injury in that game and reports out of Rotherham have suggested he was not the same player after his return to action in late November.

Holmes returns to Kenilworth Road having made eight appearances for Rotherham. The 25-year-old signed for Town during the 2023/24 season from Reading, when Town were in the Premier League, but was immediately loaned back to his boyhood club. He joined up with Luton last season but was sent on loan to Belgium club Dender EH in February, to spend the rest of that campaign there.
