Danny Hylton is hoping Glen Rea, Elliot Lee and Kazenga LuaLua all extend their stay at Luton Town after he and midfielder Luke Berry penned new two-year deals.
The quintet all helped the Hatters get into the Championship and then played a major part in keeping them there with a final day Great Escape a fortnight ago.
The club announced soon after that the players, who had temporarily prolonged their playing contracts to see out the Covid-delayed season, had been offered new deals.
Hylton said: “All three of them, El, Kaz, Glen are the right people, great characters, they’re great players, they’re people that we want around the football club.
“I really hope all three of them sign, they’ve been a massive part of what we’ve achieved over the last three or four years, so I certainly hope they all sign, I really do.”
The other player who was quick to agree to the offer of a new contract was Hylton’s pal, Berry.
The striker said: “Bezza’s a great player and again he’s been here three years now and he’s been a massive part of what they’ve achieved and what they’ve done.
“Not only is he a good player, but he’s the right character and the manager and the people around the football club are always on about having the right people around the training ground and the right characters and he’s a great lad a great personality and he got rewarded.
“I think the last 10 games of the season, he was one of our best players, so he’s been rewarded for that.”
