An investigation is under way after a car fell from a multi-storey car park at London Luton Airport on Sunday, leaving a man with minor injuries.

Emergency services were called to Terminal Car Park One shortly before 11am. The man inside was initially thought to be seriously hurt but has since been discharged from hospital. An investigation will now examine how the vehicle came to leave the upper level.

The incident happened near the site of a major fire in October last year that destroyed more than 1,400 vehicles. That blaze was linked to an electrical fault or mechanical failure in a moving diesel car. Construction work is ongoing nearby at Terminal Car Park Two.
