Luton have tonight been handed a home tie against Leicester City in the third round of the Carabao Cup – the Premier League side that signed hometown favourite James Justin in the summer.

The 21-year-old came through the Hatters’ Academy ranks to become a first-team regular and a scintillating season, where he helped Town to their first ever back-to-back promotions, saw the Foxes come calling.

Justin moved to the King Power Stadium in a deal that smashed the club record fee commanded by the Hatters.

Justin is yet to play a single competitive minute for Leicester, but a Kenilworth Road draw in the League Cup has given the full back an early opportunity to return home with his new club.

Luton reached the third round with a 3-0 victory against Cardiff in Wales last night, while Leicester beat Newcastle United on penalties at St James’ Park.

The cup tie will be played on the week commencing September 23 and some fans can’t wait.

Foxes assistant manager Chris Davies told BBC Leicester: “It will be difficult going to Luton under Graeme Jones. They’re a difficult team, we know that. We’ll be fully focused and won’t be taking anything for granted.”

While Justin tweeted Luton’s post, and simply wrote: ‘Things you love to see…”
