Luton think Martin Cranie has damaged his media knee ligament after the full back was stretchered off during the 1-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday last night.

The former Sheffield United defender was replaced just before the hour and manager Graeme Jones revealed afterwards what the early prognosis is.

“I think he’s damaged his medial,” the Hatters boss said, adding: “So we’ve lost Dan Potts and Martin Cranie in the last few days. That’s football sometimes and it’s another opportunity for other players.”

Potts was not in the squad that went to Hillsborough and Jones said:“He just felt his groin a little bit after Saturday, so we’re hoping to look after him during the week and hopefully he’ll be available for Saturday.”

Winger Callum McMananam was another absentee last night and Jones said: “He felt his hamstring after the weekend. It was a ball over the top that he reached for an just tweaked it a little bit but, again, we’re hopeful that he’s going to be available for the weekend.”
