Luton midfielder Jordan Clark has signed a contract extension and has set his sights on helping the Hatters to establish themselves in the Championship “as a top half of the table team”.
Town snapped up the free agent 27-year-old in the summer after he’d left League One outfit Accrington Stanley and he’s made 19 appearances so far.
That included a strong debut where he set up James Collins’ hat-trick in a Carabao Cup victory over Norwich City, before netting the winner against Reading in the next round.
He told the club’s website: “I’m really happy to be committing my future to Luton Town.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time here so far and have been made to feel welcome by everyone at the club, from the directors to the management, coaches, the rest of the squad and the fans.
“Those two games in which we were able to have them at the stadium were fantastic and I can’t wait to experience a packed Kenilworth Road once everything gets back to normal.
“We’ve had a promising first four months of the season and I feel that I’ve played my part, but I know there’s much more to come as I get more and more used to the Championship by the week.
“We’ve got some great lads here who have helped me settle in so quickly and the team spirit is unreal. We know that we can improve further on what we’ve done so far and we want to kick on and establish ourselves as a top half of the table team.”
Manager Nathan Jones said: “Jordan came in during the summer from a lower level and it was an opportunity for him to play in the Championship.
“He’s quickly proved he’s a Championship player and we’re delighted with the progress he’s shown, so much so that we felt we needed to secure his future.
“From the moment I met him and spoke to him, I knew Clicker would be a great fit for us and the more we see in training and matches, that is reinforced. This contract extension is deserved and it gives him that bit more security as he settles in the area.”
