Luton boss Graeme Jones will look at signing players on loan today, though he would only use that option sparingly as he aims to add new recruits before the 5pm deadline.
The Championship has come in line with the Premier League whose window for permanent and loan moves shuts this evening, though Luton could still do outgoing deals to League One and League whose window shuts on September 2.
While all seven of his signings so far have been permanent, Jones – who is hoping for a “busy time” today – would look at all routes to bolster his squad.
He said: “It’s an option, I think there’s a temporary feel about a loan
player. I wouldn’t want to bring too many in.
“I think the club has, historically, stayed away from that, trying to sign
our own players and make sure they feel integrated with the group and the club.
“You get a bigger buy-in, but obviously if some decent options come up in that area, that’s going to improve us, and the right characters then we’ll consider it.”
