The 100th easyJet flight supporting the travel wishes of children living with critical illnesses across Europe landed in Luton.

Every 25 seconds, a family hears the devastating news that their child is diagnosed with a critical condition, turning their lives upside down. Make-A-Wish aims to revive childhoods stolen by illness and bring hope to children and their loved ones.

The airline partnered with Make-A-Wish International in August 2024, helping bring the joy of travel to so many deserving children with critical illnesses and their families, by donating flights to help make their wishes a reality.

The 100th flight, from Belfast to Luton Airport, bought a day of magic to bright and cheerful eight-year-old Ava who lives with a haematological condition, which saw her wisked from the airport to London’s West End to grant her wish to see the hit musical Wicked and experience a fun day of sightseeing with her family.

Her mother, Jennifer, said: “The flight was good, everyone was so friendly. They made an announcement, and the kids got to go in the cockpit on the way there and back! It was such a brilliant weekend! The kids had a ball!”

Michael Brown, Director of Cabin Services, easyJet, said: “We are incredibly honoured to have been able to help grant the wishes of children like Ava, Holly and Zara through our partnership with Make-A-Wish. It has been our great privilege for easyJet and our dedicated crew to fly over 100 children and their families across Europe to help play small a part in making their wishes come true.”

Luciano Manzo, President & CEO of Make-A-Wish International, said: “We’re incredibly thankful to easyJet for helping bring joy and adventure to the lives of the children and families we support.

“For those navigating the challenges of a critical illness, the chance to travel, discover new places, and share meaningful moments with loved ones can be truly transformative. With easyJet’s generous support, we’re able to make more of these transformative wishes come true for children across Europe.”
