Daiki Hashioka is reported to be on the verge of sealing a move away from Kenilworth Road, with Czech champions Slavia Prague poised to complete a deal for the versatile Luton Town defender.
According to Czech outlet Denik Sport, the transfer is expected to be finalised in the coming days. The 26-year-old defender joined the Hatters in January 2023 and made ten Premier League appearances during his time at the club.
The Japan international arrived as Town’s only signing in the Premier League winter transfer window, but featured sporadically during Luton’s top-flight campaign. Though injury-hit last term, his last appearance was as a substitute in the 1-1 draw with Sheffield Wednesday in February.
With the Hatters now preparing for life in League One, the club have opted to part ways with the defender as part of a broader summer reshuffle.
A deal has not been officially confirmed, but it would give Luton further flexibility to reshape their defensive unit ahead of the new League One campaign.
Denik Sport has said Hashioka is not expected to link up with Slavia until next week, missing the start of the Czech side’s pre-season fitness camp. However, he is set to join their squad for a training camp in Austria beginning next Monday, where he will add depth and competition on the right flank, particularly challenging Slavia regular David Douděra for a starting spot.
