A restaurant in Luton town centre has been forced to shut after a fire broke out over the weekend.
Fire crews responded to tackle the blaze at Zandra’s on Upper George Street on Saturday, March 15.
In a statement on Facebook, the Italian restaurant announced: “With deep regret, Zandra’s will be closed until further notice. A fire destroyed our restaurant this morning.”
As a precaution, residents of a nearby student accommodation block were evacuated after smoke spread to the building. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
