Luton have confirmed the signing of Norwegian striker Lasse Nordås from Tromsø, with manager Matt Bloomfield describing him as a player with “great potential and goal-scoring pedigree.”
The 22-year-old joins the Hatters for an undisclosed fee, subject to international clearance and a work permit.
With a track record of finding the net and a hunger for development, Bloomfield is confident Nordås will make a significant impact in the English game.
A Norway Under-21 international with 12 caps, Nordås brings experience from both domestic and European football, and he scored four times in this season’s Europa Conference League.
Having started his career at Lillestrøm before moves to Strømmen, Bodø/Glimt, and Tromsø, the young forward has built an impressive resume that includes Champions League appearances and 18 goals in 63 games for Tromsø.
“Lasse’s a really exciting signing for us, with the potential that he brings as well as goals at the top of the pitch,” Bloomfield said. “He comes really highly regarded but already has good experience, so he’s got good pedigree and knows where the back of the net is.”
The manager emphasised the need to integrate Nordås gradually, given that he is in the off-season, with Norway’s domestic top-flight concluding in December.
“We’ve got to be careful with him and build him up slowly,” Bloomfield said.
Nordås will have a familiar face in fellow Norwegian international Thelo Aasgaard, who last week signed from Wigan Athletic.
“Lasse’s an international teammate of Thelo’s too, so that will help him settle. They’re the future of Norwegian football and for us too,” Bloomfield added.
