Luton Town striker James Collins has tested positive for Coronavirus and will miss tonight’s Championship clash at Millwall and Saturday’s trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

The Republic of Ireland international was withdrawn from the squad ahead of Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Stoke City, with the club left waiting on the results of a priority test yesterday (Monday).

Speaking to The Lutonian and other media yesterday afternoon, ahead of the Millwall clash, boss Nathan Jones revealed that the results were due in the morning but had not arrived, saying it was “very strange”.

But after the team sheet to face Millwall was announced ahead of kick-off, with no place in the squad for Collins, it was confirmed that he’d tested positive and must now self-isolate for 10 days.

Jones also confirmed yesterday that the rest of the Luton squad had been tested on Saturday, so it is thought that there are no other cases.

The club confirmed that Collins ‘will remain in isolation for the required period of time, becoming available again for the Nottingham Forest match next week.’

There are two changes for the Millwall match with Harry Cornick and Elliot Lee both moving to the bench to be replaced by Kazenga LuaLua and Jordan Clark.
