Kazenga LuaLua only had eyes for Luton this summer, so he’s delighted to be back playing for the club after a new deal was resurrected from the dead.
The winger played a starring role in yesterday’s 3-1 win at Barnsley, as Town finally got their first victory in the Championship.
LuaLua is being eased back into the fold after missing the majority of pre-season because contract negotiations died, ending with both the club and the player issuing statements that they would be parting ways.
But the pacey forward was pursued by manager Graeme Jones and after speaking to him and Mick Harford a deal was finally struck just before the season started.
Asked about the contract wrangle, LuaLua said: “A lot went on and I’d rather not talk about it but I’m happy here and that’s the most important thing.
“I’m happy to be back here. I enjoyed it last season and, like I said, a lot went on, but, for me, it’s about happiness about playing football and enjoying it.
“It’s not just because the other big club want you and you can go, but for me it’s about happiness. It comes first over anything.
“I enjoyed my time here and I wanted to come back. That was the first option.”
