Rising pop star Myles Smith has teased a new track called ‘Gold’ while wearing a Luton Town Football Club shirt in a new social media video.

The chart-busting singer-songwriter from Leagrave is the winner of the 2025 BRITs Rising Star award and is scheduled to perform at the bash on Saturday (March 1).

He is also nominated for three Brit Awards, for the Best New Artist and Best Pop Act gongs, as well as the Song of the Year, for his global smash-hit song ‘Stargazing’.

Ahead of the star-studded show, which takes place at the O2 Arena in London, Smith has teased a brand-new demo.

And in an exuberant Instagram post, the 26-year-old said: “I wrote a song about how l’m feeling recently… I kinda love it.”

In the video he’s seen wearing the colours of the Hatters, having also had two of his songs played by football arch-rivals Watford during the defeat at Vicarage Road on Sunday.

It’s not the first time, Smith has shown support for his hometown football team, after he and his bands wore the football shirt when they performed a triumphant homecoming set at Radio 1’s Big Weekend, when the three-day music festival was held in the town’s Stockwood Park last year.

Smith has also posted a performance video of his new song, ‘Gold’ on Instagram, which he has been debuting live on his current European tour ahead of his sold out show in London’s Hammersmith Apollo on March 26, which had to be upgraded from the Shepherd’s Bush Empire due to demand.

Last month, Luton South MP, Rachel Hopkins, name-checked Smith in a House of Commons speech where she championed the Luton’s creative heritage and the vital role of grassroots music, amid the successful Independent Venue Week series of shows held at The Castle.
