Luton Town’s League One fixture against Huddersfield Town will not go ahead as planned after the Hatters received enough international call-ups to request a postponement.
The match was scheduled for Saturday 11 October at Kenilworth Road, but the EFL has approved a new date to be arranged. It is the second postponement this term after the game against Blackpool was rescheduled to last night, where Town came from two goals down to earn a point.
On that occasion Marvelous Nakamba (Zimbabwe), George Saville (Northern Ireland) and Nahki Wells (Bermuda) all linked up with their national sides during the international window.
A statement from the club read: “We thank all Hatters for your support and apologise to anyone inconvenienced by this change.”
The postponement means Luton will have a free weekend in mid-October, meaning Saturday’s clash at local neighbours Stevenage will be Town’s last league game until the visit of Mansfield on October 18, though the Hatters do have a Vertu Trophy trip to Cambridge United on Tuesday October 7.
