Callum McManaman insists Luton will go to Stoke tonight with the squad the happiest he’s seen after the stunning late fightback to beat Wigan 2-1 on Saturday.

The winger came off the bench to level the score against his old side in the 87th minute at Kenilworth Road, before George Moncur struck deep into injury.

There were jubilant scenes on and off the pitch at the manner of the victory, which lifted Luton four points above the Championship drop zone.

Tonight they travel to struggling Stoke who, on a three-game losing streak, sit second from bottom.

Asked about the confidence Town can take from the weekend, McManaman said: “It’s massive. The lads are all buzzing. That’s the happiest I’ve seen everyone because of the way we’ve won and the character we’ve shown so everyone’s on a high. We’ll go to Stoke now, on a high.”

It’s a second successive six-pointer for Luton where a victory could further boost their hopes of survival this term.

“I think we need to go there with confidence and try to beat them, I don’t see why we can’t,” said McManaman, adding: “There’s no point going there, sitting back and trying to play for a draw, but if we did draw, it would still be a good result.”

Fellow goal hero from Saturday, Moncur talked of the importance of the clash, saying: “It’s massive, they’re an ex-Premier League team and I don’t think I’d have thought they’d be down where they are.

“I’ve played there before for West Ham’s Under-23s but it’s a massive stadium and they’re going to have quite a lot of fans, I think, and it’s going to be a tough test, especially away from home.”
