New signing Admiral Muskwe says he wants to emulate the Luton success of ex-Leicester City team-mate Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall after speaking to the midfielder and Lutonian James Justin before his switch to Kenilworth Road.
The 22-year-old became Town’s eighth summer signing today, leaving the Foxes where he’d been since the age of nine.
Dewsbury-Hall spent last season on loan at Luton and bagged a haul of personal accolades as the stand-out star of a stellar season for the club.
While he now looks to be firmly in Leicester’s first-team plans alongside Justin – who left for the Premier League in a big-money move two years ago – Zimbabwean international forward Muskwe has made the move permanently with a view to making similar waves.
“I spoke to both of them, mostly I spoke to Kiernan,” the forward said, adding: “I saw him a few weeks ago and he only had good things to say about the club so in the short time I have spent here, I have seen that everything he said is true and I’m hoping I can create my own positive memories at this place.
“Seeing the success Kiernan had last year, it is something I want to try and emulate myself. The love he got from the fans is definitely something I am trying to embark on and get myself as well.”
Talking about his decision to join Luton and the now infamous presentations that boss Nathan Jones tailors to each new recruit, Muskwe told the club’s website: “When I spoke to Nathan it was clear about his intentions and what he wants to do with the club. That is the same sort of plans I have for my career, so it works hand in hand. Everything he was saying is what every player wants to hear, and it made it an easy decision to come here.”
