Luton rockers JW Paris premiered new single ‘That’s Why’ on hometown Diverse FM radio show Transmission Indie on Monday night (May 25).

The track that oozes fuzzy, thrashy riffs and raw attitude, will be released on Blaggers Records on on June 5, with a video to follow on June 7.

Produced and mixed by Luton-based Dan Short and mastered at Metropolis Studios by John Davies – who has worked with Led Zeppelin, Royal Blood, U2 and The Amazons – JW Paris’ dual vocal style draws on elements of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and early Iggy Pop.

“What a track! They have not let us down,” said Transmission Indie presenter Matt Crawley, adding after he’d heard it for the first time ever live on the show: “I’ve written three words, a three-word review – filthy. Catchy and Woooohooo!”

‘That’s Why’ follows their previous single Royalty, released earlier in the year, and both tracks were giving a run-out in an incendiary performance at Harvey’s on Park Street on the last Vandalism Begins At Home live showpiece before Coronavirus struck.

Talking about the track, guitarist Danny Collins said: “Initially inspired by the infamous Fortress Music Studios in Old Street, ‘That’s Why’ draws on the band’s first-hand experience of being immersed into the darker side of the music scene.

“This includes sleepless nights, excess and witnessing first-hand the pressure that this can cause. It can relate to anyone who realises they have jumped straight into the deep end and absolutely thrives on the unknown.”

You can pre-save the track on Spotify.

JW Paris also featured on the Jägermeister x Benumu Sessions on Friday (May 22), which has been putting the spotlight on emerging artists. Watch them here playing previous singles Favourite Thing, Royalty and new track Alive.
