There are no limits to what Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu can achieve, according to Luton manager Graeme Jones, after the midfielder made history with his stunner against Bristol City.
Curling into the top corner to put Town on the road to victory on Saturday and ensured he became the only Hatter to score in every division from the Conference to the Championship.
Mpanzu would still like to add a Premier League goal to his tally, saying: “Everyone wants to play in the Premier League, it’s a top, top league, so anything can happen. It’s in God’s hands, so hopefully in the future as you never know what can happen.”
Jones believes the midfielder has all the attributes needed to play in the top-flight.
“There’s no limits to what Pelly can achieve,” said the manager, adding: “Physically, he is Premier League. If you assessed him mentally, he’s Premier League, assess him technically he’s capable of being Premier League and if you assess him tactically he’s very, very aware.
“That’s the surprising thing with Pelly, his intelligence. You look at him from a duals point of view, he’s got this canny habit of coming out with the ball.
“He’s had to adapt to the league, like we all have, and he’s doing great, but you can never drop your standards you’ve got to keep pushing.
“At the weekend there was a great sense of pride in Pelly. It was a great representation of that because he’s been on the full journey with Luton. There’s not many in any journey that have managed to start the process and continue to a level that we’re at today.”
