Aribim Pepple has left Luton Town to join League One rivals Plymouth Argyle for an undisclosed fee.

The 21-year-old striker arrived at Kenilworth Road in 2022 from Canadian Premier League outfit Cavalry but has never played a competitive game for the Hatters, spending most of his time out on loan.

After signing for Luton, Pepple had an early spell at Grimsby Town during the 2022/23 season before turning out for Bromley and Inverness Caledonian Thistle the following campaign.

Last season, he hit a strong run of form in the National League, scoring 11 goals in all competitions for Southend United during the first half of the campaign. He then made the move to Chesterfield, where he added five more goals and helped the Spireites reach the League Two play-offs.

In May, talking about Luton, he told the Blues News Podcast: “I’d love to play for the club. They gave me an opportunity, so I’m grateful for that, so we’ll see.”

Despite returning to The Brache for pre-season training, Pepple has been deemed surplus to requirements, joining the Pilgrims, who were relegated to League One with Luton at the end of last season.

New Plymouth Head Coach Tom Cleverley told the club’s website: “It’s great to have Bim on board, to add to our forward options. He had an excellent campaign last season, scoring lots of goals and contributing wherever he played.

“We are confident he will be an asset for us this, and we look forward to working with him to make him an even better player.”
