Rob Edwards is now keen to tie down more of his Luton stars to new deals after midfielder Jordan Clark signed a new contract extension – with talks now taking place with some of the players he wants to keep.

The Hatters boss believes the long-term deal shows the club’s intent to keep their best players and he revealed that discussions are taking place with the aim of offering more new deals.

“Yes, there’s some discussions going on,” said Edwards, adding: “I won’t talk about any individuals now, but there are some discussions going on of course, but it is that stage of the season where we want to be thinking about what’s next and there’s always forward planning going on.”

Clark’s new contract this week could lead the way for others to stay at Kenilworth Road and Edwards said of securing the midfielder’s signature. “It shows our intent. Clicks has been a really important player for us as I’ve said. It shows we want to continue to keep our best players and keep improving year on year.”
