The price of going to a football match and supporting a football team has never been higher, yet two years ago, during the Covid pandemic, you could not move without hearing the slogan ‘football is nothing without fans’.

But from ticket prices to the price of a pint and the cost of club replica shirts, fans are now being charged big money to enjoy the match day experience or support their club.

With the cost of living crisis already beginning to bite, will there be a tipping point of what people are prepared to put up with? The Luton Town Supporters’ Trust podcast discussed this in part two of their latest episode.

Listen to the episode, which also discusses the last days of the transfer window, and the disappointing changes to the plans at Newlands Park, which have gone from a gateway development for Luton to be proud of, full of shopping, entertainment and leisure, to a logistics development.
