A dramatic final dive in European Aquatics Championship in Belgrade saw Luton’s Amy Rollinson retain the 3m Synchronised Springboard title alongside partner Desharne Bent-Ashmeil.

It was one of four golds that helped Great Britain top the diving medal table with three of them being won by Bent-Ashmeil, who also claimed the individual 3m springboard crown and the mixed 3m springboard synchro.

Defending their European Games title from 2023, the pair pipped Sweden’s Elna Widerstrom and Nina Janmyr to the prime podium spot with their final dive, taking the title with 269.10 points ahead of Sweden’s 258.75.

Rollinson explained the reason behind their success, telling European Aquatics: “We’ve kind of come together a couple of years ago and found out that our techniques matched well.

“Here there was the first time we had a proper practice together as we both were focusing on our individual events but we also found that if we do that we can do the synchro better.”
