One of Luton’s favourite daughters is returning to our screens later this year with a brand-new series of Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over, set to hit the airwaves — but the inclusion of controversial OnlyFans star Lily Phillips in the line-up is already dividing opinion.
The sixth series of the popular docuseries will feature three new families, including 23‑year‑old Lily Phillips, a pornographic content creator with over two million social media followers and a growing tabloid profile since 2024. Known for her explicit online content, Phillips shot to notoriety after claiming to have had sex with 100 men in one day — a stunt that significantly boosted her earnings and notoriety.
The episode sees will see Stacey visit Lily at her London home to “uncover the truth behind Lily’s career”, in what producers describe as one of the most eye‑opening instalments yet.
Speaking about the new series, Dooley said: “I’m thrilled to be back for another series of Sleeps Over! Truly, it’s such a loved format and people always remind me of their fave moments when I’m out and about. We’ve got another three episodes that you’re gonna love! The themes we touch on feel incredibly timely. As always, a sincere thank you to those families who agree to open their doors. Strap in!”
The show, produced by Firecracker Films and airing later this year on channels U and U&W, continues to focus on people living outside the mainstream. Past episodes have looked at religious fundamentalists, polyamorous couples and families embracing alternative parenting. This year, it’s OnlyFans stars and digital fame in the spotlight.
Viewer backlash over Lily Phillips
Not all fans are pleased about the decision to feature Phillips as comments on social media posts noted angry reactions online, with on one calling the yet-to-be-broadcast episode: “Pretty grim giving that deviant airtime, not a single positive thing can come from the trainwreck of her life, screams of the worst clickbait, expected better tbh.”
Another comment on social media read: “Really disappointing, just don’t think @sjdooley should be promoting or giving this girl a platform. Lowest derivative entertainment, a real regression in content from you Stacey too far.”
While the producers have not directly responded to the criticism, the tone of the announcement points to a commitment to challenging conversations. Commissioning editor Emile Nawagamuwa said: “It has been three years since Stacey last slept over in the homes of UK families, and more people than ever have proudly chosen to break the rules and live life according to their own unique values. This series promises to be more eye-opening and enlightening than ever.”
Behind the scenes
Jes Wilkins, chief creative officer for Firecracker Films, called it the upcoming series: “One of the proudest achievements of my career and it’s a testament to a wonderful creative and commercial partnership with Stacey and everyone at UKTV. This series is going to be a cracker.”
Adam Collings, director of programming at U&W, added: “Stacey Dooley Sleeps Over has become a U&W audience favourite, no doubt due to the array of families and their stories, but of course Stacey being at the heart and gaining unprecedented access to their homes. Her warmth and compassion allow for a safe judgement-free environment, giving viewers an open and honest conversation, which is what makes this series so special.”
