Carlton Morris is a doubt for tomorrow’s Championship clash with Middlesbrough, with Luton boss Matt Bloomfield prepared to wait until the last minute to see if he can shake off a groin problem.

The skipper was withdrawn after 75 minutes of Tuesday night’s 2-1 bottom-of-the-table triumph at Cardiff, but looked in discomfort as he left the pitch.

Bloomfield said: “He’s got a bit of a tight groin which made him come off on Tuesday night, so he’s had limited training the last couple of days, but he’s desperate to play tomorrow afternoon. We’re going to give him right up until tomorrow, see how he is, and we hope he’ll be ready.

“If he isn’t then obviously it’ll open an opportunity for somebody else. But we hope he’ll be fine.”

The manager added: “He’s a he’s a tough, tough player that he wants to play. He wants to contribute. He’s been great for us leading the line. He’s been a fantastic character around the place as well.

“So, we’ll give him a till tomorrow, but we hope he’ll be OK.”

One of the goalscorer in midweek, Jordan Clark, revealed earlier this month that he will be playing through pain until the end of the season and the manager said of him and Morris: “That shows how much they care. It’s not always easy to play through injuries, but those two in particular now you mentioned them are just they’re all in there doing everything they possibly can. They care for the club.

“They’ve obviously had some really good days and now they’re trying to really help fight through a couple of tough times, but they’re both willing to go through the pain barrier for the football club and the supporters and for their team-mates and I can’t speak highly enough for those two guys.

“They’ve been absolutely brilliant since we’ve been here, both on and off the pitch and we really hope they’ll both be by fine for tomorrow.”

Reece Burke made his first appearance since November in the Welsh capital coming off the bench to see Town to victory and the defender has come through the game unscathed though Bloomfield said he still has to be careful with the injury-prone centre half.

Daiki Hashioka is also fit and available, though Bloomfield said: “We’ve got really good competition for places, good numbers as well. So it’s impossible to include everybody at one time because the numbers we’ve now got fit and but Hashi’s training well so he’s ready to ready to play as and when called upon.”

Tahith Chong is back not he grass but not yet in full training with the team, while Teden Mengi has been some light work, with Bloomfield saying the centre half has a chance of playing again this season, after undergoing knee surgery in November.

“Teden is working extremely hard, and we really hope that he’ll be back before the end of the season. I think there’s a real good chance,” said the Hatters boss.
