Luton rockers Tooth Marks have said local acts can be “scared to play their own material” and that it “should be the other way around,” as they walk the walk by becoming the latest band to grace the new Live Sessions showcase by Vandalism Begins at Home (VB@H).

Filmed at The Castle live music venue in the town centre, the VB@H music collective’s series has been concieved to highlight the importance of grassroots live music and venues.

Tooth Marks’ session, which is available to watch on YouTube (above) features an original three-song stripped back set of live favourites, ‘Out of My Mind’, ‘Fight For You Anyway‘ and ‘Falling Down’, plus an interview with VBAH co-conspirator Ben Barry, so you can get to know the band a little bit more.

Speaking of their experience of the current state of affairs with local live music, Tooth Marks frontman Dan Briscombe says he sees a lot of acts just play covers. Though that is far from the case with the prolific Luton tunesmiths who draw influence from classic and alt-rock, while channelling an 80s pop and British post-punk to create a sound which has been praised for its, “Powerfully produced tracks, boasting arena sized hooks and anthemic choruses, primed for mainstream radio”.

The Live Session comes after Tooth Marks released their latest single, ‘Holding On/Won’t Let Go’. The band are also one of the acts that have been announced for Vandalism Begins at Home’s second annual all-day festival Summer Assembly, which will be held at The Castle on July 27. Earlybird tickets are available here for as little as £5.50.

VB@H Live Sessions also shine a light on the talents of other local creatives, with filming by Luton-based production outfit Two Side Studios, sound from The Castle’s legendary live house sound engineer Arnie Darmanin and support from Bedfordshire-based rock n roll drink of choice Seeing Eye Rum, which is available exclusively at The Castle.
