Luton forward Elliot Lee has moved to League One outfit Oxford United on loan until the end of the season.
The 26-year-old has only featured once in the last two months, in the 1-0 FA Cup third round win over Reading, which was the last of 16 appearances this term, where he’s netted once.
Lee departs as Luton have been linked with loan moves for West Bromwich Albion‘s Kyle Edwards and Stoke City‘s Tom Ince.
The former West Ham United youth joins the Us after 112 appearance for the Hatters in two different spells, scoring 27 times, first on loan from the Hammers in 2015, when he scored 3 times in 11 appearances, and then again in 2017 when he joined permanently from Barnsley. He netted 24 times since.
Lee told the Oxford Mail: “I heard of Oxford’s interest and straight away I wanted to do it.
“I’ve always really liked Oxford as a club, especially the way the manager plays.
“The lads are doing brilliant at the minute, so it was a no-brainer. I’m really excited.
“I’m not the sort of player that wants to be on the sidelines. I want to be part of something, I want to be successful and part of a team.
“I was that at Luton but I wasn’t playing as much as I’d have liked.
“It doesn’t bother me one bit – I think Oxford are a great club, they’re fully on the up and I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”
