Luton are to splash out £100,000 on former Dunstable Town right back Peter Kioso, according to a report in the north-east.
The Hartlepool United defender joined the Conference club in the summer of 2018, having been at Creasey Park on non-contract term.
A former MK Dons trainee, the 20-year-old scored in Pools’ 2-2 draw at Yeovil last weekend, and is out of contract in the summer, after making 70 appearances for United.
The Northern Echo broke the news of the fee the Hatters are preparing to pay, while the Hartlepool’s club website describes Kioso as a ‘firm favourite with supporters due to his aggressive and all-action style, where performing at right-back, wing-back or centre-back.’
Pools’ fans are certainly disappointed to see Kioso go, with @hallydesigns posting on Twitter: ‘He is brilliant, potential to play in the PL in my eyes. Still a bit raw but with the right coaching and players round him he’ll go as far as he wants. Devastated to lose him but superb move for him. Hope we get a decent fee.’
Good luck Peter Kioso & welcome to ltfc. Play like you have been for Hartlepool & you will be great signing & the fans will sing your name & worship you … COYH 🙏
Good luck to the new lads if they come to Luton. We are not down yet so stop the negative and give them a chance. Some of the lads have had to play out of their usual positions through injury …when we get over this things will improve through out the team. Luton will always be a footballing team.
