Luke Bolton set up Jack Clarke’s last-gasp winner as England Under-20s beat Switzerland, while Lutonian James Justin came off the bench for his England Under-21 debut in the 2-0 win over Kosovo.
Manchester City ace Bolton, who signed on a season-long loan with Luton on transfer deadline day, made the telling contribution to break Swiss hearts, with a dart to the byline and a cross for Leeds United’s Clarke to head in.
Elsewhere, former Luton Town full back, James Justin – who left Kenilworth Road for Leicester in the summer, with Town commanding an undisclosed club record fee – replaced another former Hatters Academy product in Max Aarons.
Defender Aarons, now at Premier League Norwich, limped off after suffering an injury while making a sliding challenge to prevent a goal.
By the time of Justin’s 80th minute introduction, the U21s were already a goal to the good through Phil Foden, with the Manchester City ace adding a second in injury time to maintain their 100 per cent record in Euro 2021 qualifying.
Justin posted on Twitter: ‘Good to round off the week with another win. Proud to make my U21 debut!‘
