Luton Town boss Jack Wilshere says new signing Sverre Sandal has been on the club’s radar for some time after the Hatters completed a permanent deal for the Norwegian midfielder from KFUM.
The 22-year-old arrives after four seasons in the Eliteserien and becomes another piece in Wilshere’s rebuilding process, with the manager highlighting both his versatility and physical profile as key factors behind the move.
Wilshere said the club had carried out extensive work on the midfielder before bringing him to Kenilworth Road.
“Sverre is someone we’ve been aware of for a while and have had him watched on several occasions,” the manager told LTFC+
“He’s a very talented midfielder who can play as a six or an eight, with the ability to start attacks from deep with his range of passing and ability to go past people.
“With his size and power, we think he’s going to suit English football well and we’re looking forward to seeing how he can help us progress as a team.”
Standing at 6ft 3ins, Sandal started 25 of his 26 league appearances last season as KFUM finished 12th in Norway’s top flight, adding goals and assists from central midfield.
Wilshere’s comments underline Luton’s intention to blend physicality with technical quality as they continue reshaping the squad, with Sandal seen as a player capable of contributing immediately while still developing further.
