Cohen Bramall has been told to remain patient and keep working hard in training as he waits for his next opportunity at Luton Town.
Despite being one of Town’s standout players in the first half of the season, in which he’s made 35 appearances, the wing-back suffered an injury at the end of January.
He has since found minutes limited to three late substitute appearances, while Manchester City loan ace Emilio Lawrence has established himself in the side.
But boss Jack Wilshere insists Bramall remains in his plans ahead of Town travelling to Mansfield tomorrow for their second game in three days.
“Emilio’s really grown and developed, so Emilio is keeping Cohen out the team at the minute,” the Hatters boss said.
“When I think about the squad, I have to think about getting a balance of the squad. But, probably, in that position, with Gideon [Kodua] being on the bench on Wednesday, I need to think of a player that can play in two positions and I think Gideon is that player, who can play on the left. He can also play in the middle. He’s also played as a wingback at times, which we know is not his position.
“So, for Cohen, he’ll get his chance where he gets back in the squad, gets in the team and he needs to deliver assists and goals, which he has done at the start of the season.
“[He’s] probably unfortunate with the timing of his injury, but at the minute Emilio’s got that shirt and he keeps delivering. So, Cohen needs to be patient but also keeping working hard. There’s no player that’s that far away from the team, really.”
