Cauley Woodrow has completed a permanent move from Luton Town to League One rivals Wycombe Wanderers, bringing an end to his second spell at Kenilworth Road.

The 31-year-old leaves for an undisclosed fee after spending last season on loan at Adams Park.

Woodrow’s departure closes the book on a long association with the Hatters, having first come through the club’s academy before being sold to Fulham as a 16-year-old.

He wrote on Instagram: “I just want to thank @lutontown for the past 4 years! We shared some amazing moments together that I will never forget, forever grateful! Best of luck Hatters”.

One of Luton’s youngest-ever debutants, he was just 16 years and 12 days old when he made his first-team bow in an FA Trophy replay against Welling United.

He returned to Kenilworth Road from Barnsley ahead of the 2022/23 Championship campaign, billed by then manager Nathan Jones as a marquee signing. He went on to make 79 appearances, scoring six goals as the Hatters completed their remarkable promotion to the Premier League.

Although injuries limited his impact at times, Woodrow produced several memorable moments during his second spell with the club.

His stunning late strike against Norwich City on Boxing Day 2022 earned Rob Edwards his first league victory as Luton manager, while he also etched his name into Hatters folklore with a dramatic 96th-minute winner away at Everton in the FA Cup fourth round.

Woodrow also scored a crucial stoppage-time header to rescue a Premier League point at Crystal Palace during Luton’s fight for survival in the top flight.

After spending the second half of the 2024/25 campaign on loan at Blackburn Rovers, the forward joined Wycombe on a season-long loan last summer and has now made the move permanent.

In a statement, Luton said: “Everyone at Kenilworth Road thanks Cauley for his service over so many years, and especially the part he played in the club’s promotion to the Premier League. He leaves with our best wishes for his time with the Chairboys and his future career.”
