Luton are in advanced talks to sign Middlesbrough winger Isiah Jones, according to The Northern Echo.

Sky Sports had suggested that Town were battling it out with West Bromwich Albion, but with a £5million accepted, with an initial outlay of £3million.

The broadcaster also stated: “One source has indicated that Luton seems the likely destination for the player, as things stand, with the player’s Boro contract expiring in 2027.”

But reports closer to Teesside have said the Hatters are the only club who have held formal discussions and that, contrary to Sky reports, claim that the future of Boro’s Liverpool loanee Ben Doak will not have a sway on Jones’ departure, with Premier League clubs, reported to be Crystal Palace and Ipswich, keen on the Scottish international.
