Luton are monitoring Glen Rea after pulling out of the warm-up at Leeds on Tuesday, while Kazenga LuaLua has completed some training today but the visit of Reading may be too soon for the winger.
Defensive midfielder Rea, was originally in the starting line-up for Tuesday’s 1-1 draw at Elland Road, but he was withdrawn before kick-off with a thigh problem, sustained in the preparations, and replaced by Martin Cranie.
Manager Nathan Jones today has said: “We’re just monitoring that at the minute. He had a real tight thigh so we didn’t want to risk him the other night with the idea of him being right for the forthcoming games.
“We’ve come back in today and given a few of them down days and Glen was one of those, so we’ll just have to monitor that.”
Kazenga LuaLua has yet to feature in any of the match day squads since the restart, having picked up a knee injury.
Asked if he’s close to a return to action, Jones said: “He’s definitely closer. How close he is to playing and being available for Saturday is another thing.
“Again, we’ll monitor that. He’s done a real physical session today so he’s a lot, lot better. How ready he will be is another thing, but he’s that type that can come off the bench and really turn a game.
“He would prove vital so we’re hoping that he would become available.”
Luke Berry is another midfielder that is yet to feature, but Jones said: “He’s fit. The only way he’s missed out is basically he’s missed a chunk of the training and the game that we played, so it’s just about getting match fitness, which you only do by playing.
“But we can’t arrange any friendlies so we will probably have to put him in at some point but he’s ready and raring to go.”
