Kazenga LuaLua is back in contention for tomorrow night’s must-win relegation showdown with Huddersfield while Nathan Jones is hopeful of Glen Rea’s return.
The defensive midfielder has featured since pulling out of the warm-up at Leeds last week, but the winger has not featured at all due to a knee injury.
Town travel to the Terriers later today for tomorrow’s 6pm kick-off, with Jones previously saying his men need at least three wins from their final four games, if they hope to avoid relegation.
Boosted by an additional attacking option, manager Jones said: “Kaz is back with us so that’s really good because he can really provide a spark if you need it. We’re going to need everyone and Kaz is no exception.”
Asked if Rea could feature, the Hatters boss added: “We hope so. He’s been a big miss because he’s that real security and allows me to go a little more expansive, knowing that we’ve got that steel in there.
“He’s the best we’ve got at that position, so he’s been a miss for us.”
Izzy Brown missed Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Barnsley after picking up an achilles injury and he’s returned to his parent club Chelsea for medical checks.
Jones said: “He’s suffering a little bit in terms of his ankle. He picked up a minor injury which we’ll have to see if he’s available or not.”
Asked if that could be the last Luton see of the playmaker, Jones said: “We’ll have to wait and see. We sent him back because he’s their player, so we could get medical opinions, then we’ll see if we get anything out of him.”
